Mindfulness Heart

Your Mindfulness Heart Guided Imagery Technique

  1. start by going to your peaceful place where you will be alone and not be disturbed
  2. sit perfectly still on a chair or on the floor with your back straight. Do not lay down
  3. set a timer for fifteen to thirty minutes
  4. for a few moments and focus on your breathing
  5. For a minute or so, breath in, belly out and breathe out, belly in
  6. When you are ready, take a minute or two and focus and watch mind thoughts, pushing them away out of your mind, positive ones and negative ones
  7. for about a minute, breathe in and out as you relax your whole body, saying to yourself a few times, "I am relaxing my body, my body is feeling relaxed". 
  8. "I am relaxing my body, my body is feeling relaxed". 
  9. "I am relaxing my body, my body is feeling relaxed"
  10. now, when you are ready, I want you to visualize and imagine you are in a field or a garden
  11. feel that you have seeds of a flower in one of your hands
  12. now, plant the seed by digging a small hole in the Earth and placing it in the hole
  13. pick up soil and feel it in your hands and fingers as you cover up the seed
  14. water the seed, maybe using a hose or a watering can
  15. just like time has sped up, imagine shoots coming out of the ground from the sprouted seed
  16. visualize leaves uncurling and growing from the stem as it gets taller and taller
  17. pretend to hear the water coming out of the hose or watering can as you keep watering the growing plant
  18. the plant is growing to be a foot tall and keeps growing to be two and then three feet tall, and the leaves are getting bigger and brighter
  19. touch the leaves and imagine how they feel between your fingers
  20. you keep watering and the plant and it grows into a small tree
  21. now the tree bursts with flowers and you notice all the colors
  22. take a few moments and imagine smelling the flowers and the different fragrances, and you know that flowers do smell because you've smelt them before
  23. touch the petals gently and have a sense of how they feel between your fingers, and you also know how they feel because you've done this before
  24. you keep watering the tree and it keeps growing and growing
  25. now notice the tree is growing fruits all kinds and watch them as they grow and become more juicy
  26. you can pick one or two of the fruits and feel them in your hands and fingers
  27. take a bite or two or three and really taste this juicy fruit that you have just grown and you know how fruit tastes like because you've tasted it before
  28. use the power of your subconscious mind to imagine butterflies, bees or maybe hummingbirds flying around the flowers and leaves
  29. pretend you can hear them flying and enjoying the tree you just planted
  30. really feel the love for your tree, its leave, flowers and fruits
  31. continue this Mindfulness Heart Technique for a week or two, making things you think about more heartfelt and real
