Thyroid Hormone

There are two types of Thyroid Hormone produced by the Thyroid gland by converting iodine to make them...

  • triiodothyronine - T3 - four times stronger than T4
  • thyroxine - T4

These hormones control oxygen and calorie energy metabolism throughout the body.

This hormone is also associated with other hormones, such as cholesterol pregnenolone, progesterone, DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone), growth hormone, testosterone, estrogen, insulin, oxytocin and cortisol.


General Thyroid Imbalances

  • feeling tired and fatigued
  • brain fog
  • memory loss
  • mental clarity and difficulty in focusing and concentrating
  • depression
  • lack of motivation
  • weight gain
  • muscle pain
  • swelling
  • loss of outer eyebrows
  • sensitive to cold
  • digestive issues - constipation
  • palpitations

Hyperthyroidism - Too Much T3 and T4

  • weight issues
  • mood fluctuations
  • anxiety
  • irritability
  • nervous and hyperactive
  • shaky hands
  • hair loss
  • excess sweating
  • sensitive to high temperature changes
  • irregular menstrual cycle or light periods

Hypothyroidism - Too Little T3 and T4

  • weight issues

  • unable to focus and concentrate easily
  • dry skin and dry hair
  • sleep issues and insomnia
  • sensitive to the cold
  • muscle and joint pains
  • frequent menstrual cycle and heavy periods
